A Report on Rudong Tianheng Comprehensive Emergency Drill
2026-06-11

1

Rudong Tianheng held a comprehensive flood‑and‑typhoon emergency drill on Aiye Road, Juegang Town, on the morning of June 10. Designed to replicate real‑life scenarios, the drill sharpened the company’s professional emergency‑response team.

Distinguished guests attended to observe and offer guidance: Ni Wei, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of Nantong Urban Administration Bureau; Li Jianjun, Director of the Sanitation Department; Jin Yuhua, Deputy Director of the Waste Sorting Department; Fang Yongyi, Party Secretary and Director of Rudong Urban Administration Bureau; Sun Xiaoyu, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director, alongside other officials. Employees from the General Management Office, Supervision & Safety Department, Waste Collection & Transportation Station, and Waste Transfer Department took part in the full‑scale drill.

The drill simulated extreme summer flood‑season weather: severe typhoons, torrential rain and violent thunderstorms. Mirroring real‑world urban cleaning and city conditions, five concurrent hazard scenarios were staged: fire sparked by lightning‑struck debris; spilled waste from toppled bins in back‑alleys; waterlogging from blocked manholes on primary roads; flooding at residential compound gateways; and fallen tree branches blocking roadways.

This scenario simulated typhoon‑caused tree collapse blocking traffic. Crews set up safety perimeters, cut and removed broken tree trunks and branches, and cleared debris. Pedestrian and vehicle passages were reopened promptly to eliminate road hazards and restore normal traffic.

Teams worked in coordinated sub‑groups with man‑machine joint operations. They picked up scattered waste, relocated bins and cleaned bin surfaces. Floating debris in pooled water was removed to curb secondary risks including pest breeding and bad odours, restoring clean and tidy neighbourhood conditions.

7

Crews deployed an integrated workflow combining manual removal, mechanical sweeping and high‑pressure washing. Silt, debris and standing water were cleared; drainage channels were unclogged to provide passable roadways for residents.

Against hazards of drainage blockage and road flooding from heavy rain, crews installed warning barriers. Suction equipment pumped out silt and debris to unclog municipal pipelines, with high‑pressure washing to clean the roads.

A scenario was simulated in which debris on the roadside is struck by lightning and catches fire, with a risk of the fire spreading. The emergency team immediately cordoned off the area, evacuated the public and cut off the fire’s path of spread. They used fire extinguishers in accordance with regulations to suppress the open flames and douse the embers to prevent the fire from reigniting, whilst simultaneously clearing away any remaining rubbish and debris from the scene.

Rudong Tianheng will build on this drill to drive learning, training, operational readiness and process improvement through regular scenario‑based emergency exercises. Lessons from drills will translate into real‑world operational performance. The company will firmly safeguard urban functions and stable livelihood services with solid commitment and competence.
